Policy

Shipping Policy

Here's where Paddy heads off into the wild blue yonder with your bottle. Honest, plain-English detail on what we ship, where we ship, how long it takes, and what to expect.

Where we ship

We currently ship to:

  • Ireland — domestic delivery.

  • United Kingdom — England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

  • European Union — 26 countries (all EU member states except Ireland, which is our home market).

  • United States — 45 states plus DC and US territories. We do not ship to Texas, Utah, Kentucky, Mississippi, or Pennsylvania.

How orders are fulfilled

Depending on destination, stock location, and operational considerations, your order may be fulfilled from our own warehouse in Ireland, from a trusted fulfilment partner, or from a licensed retailer partner working with us. Flying Tumbler remains your seller in every case; partners ship on our behalf where applicable.

Who carries our parcels

We use a network of trusted, licensed couriers experienced in handling alcohol responsibly. Depending on destination, fulfilment route, and service level, your parcel may travel via providers including DPD, GLS, An Post, UPS, FedEx, or other carriers we appoint from time to time. Every whiskey parcel travels under signature-required delivery to ensure age-appropriate handover.

How long it takes

  • Ireland: 1–2 working days from dispatch.

  • UK: 2–4 working days from dispatch.

  • EU: 3–7 working days from dispatch.

  • US: 7–14 working days from dispatch (including customs clearance time, which can vary).

Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.

Shipping costs

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. We offer free standard delivery on Irish orders over €100 and UK orders over €120.

Age verification

You must be 18 or older (or the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, if higher) to purchase. The carrier will require an adult signature on delivery. If no adult is available, the parcel will be re-attempted or held at a depot or pickup point per the carrier's standard process. We cannot leave whiskey parcels in a safe place.

Customs, duties and import taxes (non-EU destinations)

For orders to the UK, US, or anywhere outside the European Union, you are the importer of record. That means you'll be responsible for any import VAT, duty, tariff, or brokerage charges applied by the destination country.

  • UK: UK VAT (20%) plus any UK excise duty is paid by you on delivery via the carrier.

  • US: US federal tariff (currently 20% on Irish whiskey under the prevailing trade regime) and any state-level duties are paid by you on receipt.

  • EU: No additional VAT or duty — Irish VAT is already included in the price you paid at checkout.

We provide all required customs paperwork. Estimated arrival fees vary — please check with your local customs authority if you'd like a precise figure before ordering.

If a parcel is delayed, lost, or seized

Most parcels arrive without issue. Occasionally, customs can hold or seize a shipment — particularly in stricter US states or where local rules around personal alcohol imports apply. Flying Tumbler is not liable for seized parcels, but we will:

  • Provide all paperwork the carrier or customs authority asks for.

  • Where the parcel is genuinely lost in transit (rather than seized), open a carrier claim on your behalf.

  • Consider a goodwill refund or credit on a case-by-case basis, at our sole discretion.

Tracking

You'll receive tracking by email as soon as the label is created. If you don't see it, check spam, then email us at info@flyingtumbler.com — we'll resend.
